The “Donate Books” Initiative, For Albanians Suffering From Deprivation Of Liberty Abroad
Literature breaks down walls, especially in prison. Based on this, the National Agency of the Diaspora and the Publishing Center for the Diaspora, with the support of the Minister of State for the Diaspora, have undertaken the initiative “Donate books” for Albanian citizens suffering deprivation of liberty abroad. The donated books will serve to create a fund with Albanian books in penitentiary institutions in Greece and Italy, as the prison is not only a place for serving a sentence but can also be literature, study, increasing cultural recognition and interaction.
Currently, 6 thousand copies of art books have been collected which will be distributed in these centers on February 21, International Mother Language Day, to give the opportunity to hundreds of Albanian citizens suffering deprivation of liberty to read in Albanian.
If you want to be part of this initiative and donate books you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
